America is STILL so far from this reality. (It's now 24 September 2020.) Why are we not angrier about this? Why aren't we demanding firings, resignations, full accountability, redress, and recompense when victims are Black? 'The Letters' Series Airs Tuesdays on Instagram. This letter was sent to me on Wed, Jan 17, 2018 at 6:02 PM. I wouldn't receive it until September 2019. #BlackLivesMatter is essential for U.S. black women's justice initiatives. Theresa was assaulted in 2014, and actively campaigned for justice - unaided and without help - straight through the #MeToo Movement! Her rights were trampled by a campus predator, and then by multiple high level offices and individuals tasked with protecting justice for all (including this judge...). Without a movement for black people, black women - like Theresa - are destined to be denied justice in the United States. #BlackLivesMatter!
